Gandhara and Taxila

In the first century BCE, the areas of Gandhara and Taxila (in present-day Pakistan and Afghanistan), which had been colonized by the Greek successors to Alexander for several centuries, were invaded by Indo-Scythians under the banner of Maues.

The Indo-Scythians remained in power until the Gupta empire defeated them in the fourth century CE.
